In the not too distant future the Texas-based Bar Louie chain will be opening a second Kansas City location north of the river. Bar Louie north will take over the old O’Dowds Little Dublin location in Zona Rosa.
The Kansas City Star is reporting a projected opening date of February 6, 2012 and will be larger than the current location in the Power & Light District (located at 101 E. 14th St).
Bar Louie’s website describes the concept as a “casually cool neighborhood restaurant & bar featuring warm, upbeat surroundings with contemporary photography, mosaic tiling, wood-paneled walls, modern lighting and plasma televisions, making it a favorite gathering place for family and friends. Specializing in oversized sandwiches and artfully concocted signature cocktails, Bar Louie also offers an extensive selection of appetizers, pastas, entrees and a wide assortment of interesting beers, microbrews and wines by the glass or bottle.”
More details to follow as they become available.
