LEAWOOD, KAN. (January 2014) – Entering its ninth month of operations, Red Door Woodfire Kitchen & Bar at 11851 Roe Ave. in Leawood’s Camelot Court is evolving its culinary approach that includes an expanded and diversified menu. Red Door listened to and is evolving the concept based on guest feedback and internal evaluations to more accurately align with its vision of a community-focused restaurant that serves flavor-forward food. Under new culinary leadership, the menu is expanding and diversifying to offer new, “craveable” value-oriented lunch and dinner menu items.

“First Taste Wednesdays” will give customers the opportunity to try new menu items as they are unveiled weekly, every Wednesday, now through March. The first new menu items have officially launched and include Pretzel Crusted Onion Rings, Steamed Pei Mussels, Barbeque Pork Ribs, Wild Mushroom Enchiladas, and Fried Shrimp that will satisfy every type of diner. A completely new dessert menu featuring four, house-made options including Banana Cream Pie, Skillet Bourbon Pecan Pie, Crème Brulee, and Butterscotch Chocolate Tart recently launched as well.

Industry veterans leading the development of Red Door’s evolved menu are Dan Admire, Executive Vice President of Culinary Operations, and Julie Deane, Vice President of Operations. Admire brings a deep understanding of high volume community restaurants, most recently with Houlihan’s Restaurant Group, now working with Red Door’s chef team to create craveable food. Deane is a nationally recognized restaurant consultant with operational and branding experience, which also includes a background with Houlihan’s Restaurant Group.

New items will continue to roll out and expand the appetizer, salad, entrée, sandwich, and side selections. The menu will maintain pastime favorites including Red Door’s signature flatbreads and burgers. Red Door’s popular daily happy hour and promotions will continue with plans to introduce seasonal promotions in the upcoming months.

HAPPY HOUR AND PROMOTIONS

Red Door’s happy hour menu features drink specials that include $1 off 20-ounce draft beers, $4.50 house margaritas, Moscow mules, cosmopolitans, house wines, and $1 off all Red Door signature martinis. It also includes a selection of half-priced appetizers and $2.75 street tacos. Happy hour is served in the bar and on the patio (weather permitting) Monday – Sunday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Additionally, Red Door will continue its weekend drink specials of $5.50 Bloody Marys and mimosas, $2.50 PBR 16-ounce cans, and $3.25 Bud Light drafts from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.

Red Door’s weekly promotions include “Monday Burger Nights,” “Thursday Half-Price Wine,” and “Sunday Kids Eat Free.” Every Monday, from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. in the bar and patio, Red Door offers $5 classic burgers and $8 gourmet burgers with the option to add fries for $1 as part of its “Monday Burger Nights.” Every Thursday, from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Red Door offers half-priced select bottles of wine throughout the entire restaurant. Additionally, every Sunday, from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., kids 10 years old and younger eat free with the purchase of every adult entrée.

Red Door’s cuisine is prepared using wood-fired cooking styles which infuse rich, serious flavors in every item. The lunch and dinner menus are filled with craveable food throughout the appetizer, salad, entrée, sandwich, and side selections. The fully stocked bar features handcrafted specialty cocktails and martinis, regional craft beers and a large selection of red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines by the glass and bottle.
