Denver: Snooze – An A.M. Eatery

Earlier this summer we found ourselves in Denver for a weekend of fun.  One morning, in need of a good breakfast we asked some friends who live in the area where we should go.  Barely had the question out of our mouth before both of them responded with Snooze.  Looking it up we found there was one only about a mile away from our hotel in Downtown Denver.  So away we went.

On a Thursday morning at 9:45 am we were surprised to find a 30-45 minute wait.  If it had not been the enthusiastic recommendation of the place I probably would have ventured on.  In hindsight, waiting was one of the best decisions we made the entire trip to the Rocky Mountain state.

The menu features a good variety of breakfasty dishes, but it was the eggs benedict section that drew my attention.  Asking our server which was the best one to try, he let us in on a little known secret.  At Snooze you can actually get 2 different benny’s and so I took his lead and ran with it.  As a complete after-thought one of our group also ordered the sweet potato pancakes for the table to share.  Those pancakes, oh wow.  Alone they would have me pondering a drive all the way back out west.  Buttermilk sweet potato pancakes topped with caramel, pecans, and a ginger butter these little discs were a true slice of heaven.

The food was excellent, the bloody mary’s were hand mixed, and our server was attentive and professional while still being fun and engaging.  This was our first time in, but I can guarantee it won’t be our last.
